Arrival and departure
- Guests are required to show a photo identification (passport or ID) upon arrival at the Grietjie gate
- Our check in time is 15h00
- Our check out time is before 11h00
Cancellation policy
- Cancellation <14 Days before arrival the full deposit may be retained
- Cancellation 15 – 28 days before arrival 50% of the deposit may be retained
- Cancellation 29 – 42 days before arrival 25% of the deposit may be retained
- Any Cancellation 43 days and more before day of arrival the full deposit will be refunded less bank charges
- In the event of no show or premature departure, the full cost of the stay will be charged
- Child Policy
- children over 14 are welcome, under direct adult supervision at all times
Lodge policy
- Lunch is not provided on the day of arrival nor day of departure
- We are a non smoking accommodation and smoking is only allowed in the outdoor designated areas. Under no circumstances is smoking allowed in bar area, around the fire or in or near your thatched tented chalet.
- Pets are not allowed
- We expect all guests to abide by the rules and regulations of Balule Nature Reserve
Liability
- An indemnity form must be signed by all guests on arrival at the lodge, a copy of this is available at this link.
Gratuities/Tips
- Tipping – Tipping is never compulsory, always at your discretion, and should reflect the service you received. If you felt well looked after and would like to show appreciation, our staff greatly appreciate gratuities, you can find our suggested tipping guidelines below which is based on industry standards.
Guides – R200 – R500 per day
General Staff ( includes cook, cleaning, and maintenance staff) R200 – R350 per day
Alternatively if you prefer you can give one amount of your choosing to be split evenly amongst all the staff.
